PRESS RELEASE 07/03/2018
LOSS OF LIFE AT SEA
SMALL CHARITY LAUNCH: AN APPEAL FOR SUPPORTTO SUPPORT ANY PERSON AT SEA ,FISHERMEN, YACHTSMEN, MERCHANT SEAMEN ALIKE.
BLUE SEAS PROTECTION, a specialist Marine Charity, announces a new platform to extend its services to those less fortunate when tragedy hits at sea .
Over many years as professional marine salvors, working alongside fishermen, and many friendships formed, we now want to help to instigate a rapid response service for loss of live at sea. We realise that fishermen work in one of the toughest most difficult and hazardous of industries. If something goes wrong it is often a matter of life or death.
The founders of Blue Seas Protection have been involved and represented families and next of kin where there has been sinking of fishing vessels and subsequent tragic loss of lives at sea. When these sad events happen there is no acknowledged independent response unit to make recovery of the bodies of lost fishermen for the families and next of kin. Currently families have to rely on the hope that authorities will somehow help, which can be a very lengthy time consuming process, which may or may not happen. This is not required at such times.
We refer to the sinking of the trawler Nancy Glen in Loch Fyne Scotland where sadly families had to wait months for the recovery of their lost ones. This happened just meters from the shore in plain view of the whole community. We are calling for a professional Marine Rapid Response Unit and offer to address this horrendous lack of provision at the most devastating of times.
We appeal now for Harbour Authorities, Fishing Industry companies, fish merchants, fish processors, fishing boat owners, fishermen and families to support this provision of a new service provided by our charity.
